Dr Mike Wong is a hard working and passionate General Paediatrician. He believes in working with families to provide the best paediatric care on the Gold Coast with compassion and empathy. Mike studied medicine at the University of Queensland before training in paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. He completed his training with a clinical fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto in paediatric emergency medicine. Mike was awarded his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2018.

Mike is interested in all aspects of general paediatrics with special interests in respiratory, urgent care and neonates. He particularly enjoys employing his skills in the treatment and follow-up of emergency care. Mike also has a keen interest in point of care ultrasound and utilises this skill in his assessments, especially for respiratory cases.

Mike is passionate about teaching and education. He has provided regular education to medical students, junior doctors and currently teaches his point of care ultrasound skills.

Mike and his wife are enjoying life of the Gold Coast after their adventure in Canada. When not at work, Mike enjoys surfing on the Gold Coast, camping and playing with his young daughter, especially in the water!
