Dr Ravi Bala is a General Paediatrician committed to providing specialist paediatric care for newborns all the way through to adolescence.
Dr Bala started his journey in medicine right here on the Gold Coast, at Bond University, where he met his wife.
He completed his early training in South East Queensland, training at The Queensland Children’s, Mater Children’s, Mater Mothers’, Ipswich, Lismore Base and Logan Hospitals.
He followed his dream of working on the Gold Coast and completed 3 years of Paediatric Advanced Training at the Gold Coast University Hospital, including a 6-month rotation through the Leading Steps Paediatric Clinic as our Senior Registrar.
Dr Bala not only holds his Specialist Qualification as a General Paediatrician from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), but also holds a Master of Public Health, Diploma of Child Health, and is a Clinical Associate Professor in Paediatrics for Bond University.
Dr Bala is committed to quality improvement and providing exemplary, evidence-based care for all his patients.
Along with creating and developing a range of paediatric guidelines currently used at the Gold Coast University Hospital, he was selected as an expert reviewer for the Tri-State (QLD, NSW, VIC) Paediatric Improvement Collaborative, regularly publishing guidelines through the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Dr Bala is passionate about teaching. Along with regular teaching for medical students, Ravi has educated junior doctors throughout Queensland and was appointed by the RACP as the State Co-ordinator for the College’s Paediatric Learning Series. He is also a member of the QLD Paediatric Training Committee, as well as being the co-creator of the Queensland’s first ever Paediatric Specialist Written Exam Online Preparation Program.
Dr Bala brings with him his strong teaching and education background along with his kind, caring and compassionate personality, to deliver exemplary care for your child.
Dr Bala truly believes that knowledge is power, and his professional goal is to share and impart that knowledge with his patients and their families, allowing you to feel informed, confident and empowered to provide the best care for your child.
