Dr Victoria Matheson studied Medicine at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in the United Kingdom. She moved to Australia as a junior doctor and has completed all her subsequent training here. She is a specialist in both General Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine with a bridging specialty of Paediatric Emergency.  This combination of specialities allows her to provide a unique level of care to her patients across the full range of age from the preterm infant to the mature teenager.

Dr Matheson is a enthusiastic and hard working doctor. She puts the care of her patients and their families at the forefront of her approach to her work.

She has interests in all aspects of general paediatrics as well as behavioural and developmental paediatrics. Through her training she is an expert in the care of newborns through to adolescents presenting with urgent or emergency problems. She also works as an Emergency specialist at the Gold Coast University hospital.

She holds academic titles with both Bond University and The University of Queensland and is a member of the Paediatric Research in Emergency Departments International Collaborative (PREDICT) network. In 2015 she completed a Master of Public Health with a focus on childhood obesity. This commitment to ongoing education keeps her medical practice at the forefront of evidence based medicine.
