Leading Steps is aware that there is currently a national shortage of methylphenidate, in particular concerta. This widespread medication crisis is creating a significant burden on our paediatricians, who are having to spend huge amounts of additional time on top of already packed schedules, answering 5 or more requests/concerns regarding this shortage every single day, each one requiring discussions about alternative options. Please understand that we are doing our best to help as soon as possible, but we are limited by the overwhelming number of requests and the need to get home to our families

If your request is due to this problem, please consider the following options as alternatives to help streamline your request:

  1. Short acting Ritalin

  2. Ritalin LA (8 hour version)

  3. A different medication like Vyvanse or guanfacine
